Leasing Opportunities - Technology Centre of New Jersey

New Jersey boasts more scientists per capita than any other state, and in the heart of the state's "Research Corridor" is the Technology Centre of New Jersey.  The Centre offers young, growing firms, as well as large established companies, customizable laboratory and production facilities at below-market rent.  Tech Centre facilities have been specifically designed to meet the needs of emerging research and development companies in the biosciences, microelectronics, advanced materials and communications technologies industries.  Stand-alone facilities from 5,000 to 60,000 square feet can accommodate state-of-the-art clean rooms and wet labs.

The Centre complex sits on more than 50 acres in the research and development corridor between Rutgers and Princeton Universities, and consists of approximately 325,000 square feet of lab, production and office space.  More than $100 million has been invested in facilities and improvements on the property, which is located within the Greater New Brunswick Innovation Zone.  This geographically defined area has been established to spur collaboration among the state's public research institutions, medical research facilities and technology and life sciences businesses to encourage the more rapid transfer of discoveries from the laboratory to the marketplace.  This initiative currently involves over twenty major New Jersey corporations.  Several EDA financing and incentive programs have been enhanced to offer added benefits to companies locating within Innovation Zones.

Merial Limited, jointly owned by Merck & Co. and Aventis S.A., is one of the prominent Tech Centre tenants.  Johnson & Johnson and Bristol-Myers Squibb are also located in close proximity.  Nearby educational and research institutions include Rutgers and Princeton, the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, the Medical Center at Princeton and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.  The Centre's proximity to prestigious institutions of higher learning and major research corporations provides occupants with access to a highly educated and skilled labor pool.

Another benefit for Tech Centre tenants is an agreement with Rutgers University that encourages interaction with researchers and faculty, and provides access to university resources such as labs, libraries, and scientific equipment on a fee-for-use basis.  Tenants also are eligible for valuable technical assistance through the New Jersey Commission on Science and Technology. The Tech Centre is also home to the Commercialization Center for Innovative Technologies (CCIT), which is one of the most recognized incubators of its kind in the world.  CCIT offers individual wet and dry lab modules of 800 square feet, combinable up to 6,000 square feet, to qualified tenants.  To learn more about CCIT, click here.
