Thomas P. Scrivo

Managing Partner, O'Toole Scrivo Fernandez Weiner Van Lieu, LLC

Mr. Scrivo was named Chief Counsel by Governor Chris Christie on July 17, 2015. He joined the Administration from McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter, LLP, where he served as the Managing Partner of the Firm’s Newark office and Co-Chair of the Firm’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group.  

An experienced trial lawyer and a trusted advisor to clients in the public and private sectors, Scrivo is a Certified Civil Trial Attorney by the New Jersey Supreme Court. He has extensive experience in the areas of business counseling and litigation, labor and employment law, local government and redevelopment law, and health care law.

Prior to entering practice, Scrivo served as a Law Clerk in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division. Scrivo is past President of the Essex County Bar Association and a former Trustee of the New Jersey State Bar Association.

Scrivo graduated from Fairfield University in 1985 and received his law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1989, where he served as an Editor on the Law Review. He is admitted to the bars of the State of New Jersey, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Born in Newark, Scrivo currently resides in Essex County with his wife and their four children.
